All the Features you Get When you Softmod Your Wii
I just wanted to make a quick post to cover all the extra features you unlock when you softmod your Wii. These features really do make Wii the best gaming console around today.
First off, you will be able to play DVDs on your Wii. Honestly, I don’t know why Nintendo didn’t include this as an already installed feature to the Wii when they released it. Every other gaming console allows DVD playback and the PS3 even has a Blu-Ray player. It seems obvious to me that they would include DVD playback, but they didn’t. That is one of my favorites about doing a softmod to the Wii, I can now watch movies with it.
Another thing you will be able to do with an unlocked Wii is make backup copies of all your games. This will save you a ton of money on buying new games since you can just copy them right on the Wii itself. Think of how easily games get scratched, lost, or stolen. You don’t have to worry about this anymore since you will always have a backup copy.
Playing emulators is another feature you will enjoy with an unlocked Wii. Emulators allow you to play old school games from other consoles. Some of the systems you can play games from on the Wii are Original Nintendo, SNES, N64, and Sega Genesis. I think that a lot of the old school games are better than the ones that come out today and since I don’t have my old consoles anymore, I haven’t been able to play these games. With Homebrew installed though, I am able to enjoy all of these games again.
Finally, you will have access to tons of other Homebrew applications and games. You will also be able to browse the internet on your Wii. One of the best things about Wii Homebrew is that it’s powered by the Wii gamers themselves. People are creating and uploading new games and files all the time that anyone can download. This makes the Wii a much more powerful gaming system than any of the others in my opinion.
I hope you now realize the power that the Nintendo Wii has once you are able to softmod it and install Homebrew. It’s really easy to do and you will be glad that you did it.
