Two Different Methods on How to Softmod Wii
When you decide you want to unlock your Wii with a softmod instead of a hardware modification, you have two options that you can choose.
1. You can get a copy of Zelda: Twilight Princess and do the Twilight Hack. A lot of people believe that this is the only way to softmod your Wii, but that isn’t the case. There is a new software out that allows you to unlock your Wii without any need for Zelda at all. I personally don’t recommend the Twilight Hack because you need to buy or rent a copy of the game if you don’t already have it, and also, the Twilight Hack only works on certain firmware versions of the Wii. However, if you already own a copy of the Twilight Princess and you have the correct firmware version, then by all means use the Twilight Hack.
For reference, the Twilight Hack can only be done on firmware versions 3.3 or earlier. If you have already upgraded past 3.3, you would need to do a downgrade and that is another topic.
2. As I mentioned earlier, there is another, more easier way to figure out how to softmod Wii. All you need to do is download the proper files and upload them onto your Wii with an SD card. The best place that I’ve found to get all the needed files is MyHomebreware.com.
